Vintage history

This vintage, shaped by the year’s favourable climate, stands out for its richness without heaviness, thanks to the cool nights of a hot summer. It’s a bottle that never disappoints. Deliciously pleasant and supple in its youth, it remains delicious today. A vintage of balance and charm, as we all wish.

Jancis Robinson – 16,5/20

Like the 2018, incredibly fresh and fragrant fine-boned. The Merlot lays dusty red berries in neat tramlines down the palate and the Cab Franc follows with a 5B pencil sketching box outlines and drawing the scent of bitter box leaf in its wake. The Malbec skips in on the end dropping ink splots and blueberries, like a little liquid Hansel. Then they all draw together and kick some gently stemmy tannins over the finish line. So, so, so fresh.

Gilbert & Gaillard – 87/100

Intense garnet. Promising nose combining plum, morello cherry, fine spices and delicate toasted oak. Fairly full, smooth palate, still slightly firm with charming youthful aromas. Leaves a feeling of harmony. We like it.

Andreas Larsson – Blind Tasted – 87/100

Medium to deep ruby colour with a purple hue. Sweet nose of plum, red berries, mild spices and dried herbs. Medium weight, a youthful texture with rather firm tannin, fresh with good length and supple fruit, just still needing time to soften.

Roberson Wine

Some gourmet patisserie aromatics, this has an appealing start. Opens gently and slowly, not trying to impress but to gently convince. Redcurrant and raspberry dominates, with fresh acidities, an attractive softness overall with finesse and carefully laid out for easy drinking.

Wine Enthusiast – 91/100

This wine from Sophie Holzberg has fine tannins, rich fruit and excellent potential. Its solid structure and concentration indicate the richness and density of the vintage. Drink from 2021.

Yves beck – 92/100

The bouquet of the 2016 displays great finesse and a fine symbiosis of chalky nuances, cocoa notes and fruity aromas. Harmony is assured on the palate thanks to fine tannins in phase with the tension of the acid structure. A wine of character that can be enjoyed from the outset, with good ageing potential.
